Stop pulling
A tangle tightens when you pull both ends. Set the coil down and let it relax.

Find the twist
Look for the spot where rings cross over each other. That is usually where one ring flipped through its neighbour.

Turn, don't tug
Hold the loose section and rotate the twisted ring back the way it came, one ring at a time. Most tangles undo in a few turns.

Check the line
Lay the Slinky on a table and look down its length. Every ring should sit flat against the next.

Store it closed
Keep the coil compressed, in its box or with a soft band around it. Don't leave it stretched over furniture.
